Slack App

The Teamside App for Slack allows to you quickly and easily add information from Slack conversations to Teamside as meeting topics, personal notes and more.

Slash Commands

The /teamside slash command takes the following subcommands

  • help: show this help message
  • add [text]: quickly add a message to Teamside as a meeting topic or note
  • note [text]: add a personal note to Teamside
  • sync: link your Slack account with your Teamside account.

Message Actions

After installing the Teamside App for Slack, you can use the Add as Teamside Topic message action to quickly add an existing Slack message to Teamside as either a meeting topic or note. Just move your pointer to the right of a message, and from the More actions menu, select Add as Teamside Topic.

Installation

Installing the Teamside App for Slack requires two simple steps:
  1. Add the Teamside App for Slack to your Slack workspace
  2. Link your user account

Add the Teamside App for Slack

Note: To add the Teamside App for Slack to your Slack workspace, you need to be an organization admin.

From the profile menu at the top right of the Teamside application, select Organization Settings to go to the Oganization Settings area.

From within the organization settings view, select the Integrations button. If you haven't already installed the Teamside App for Slack, you'll see a Slack item under the Available heading. Click this to view Teamside App for Slack information along with the installation instructions.

At the top of that view, you'll also see an Add to Slack button. Click this to start the app installation process.

Link Your Users

Each user that wants to use the Teamside App for Slack will need to link her Slack user with her Teamside user. This allows Teamside to creates notes and topics with the correct ownership, and allows a user to select from her own list meetings when adding meeting topics.

To link your account, simply run the Slack slash command: /teamside sync
